Роксана,проснулась,девочка моя
Роксюша,глаза от-крыла
Роксенья, тыпосмотрелана меня -
Рокси, в твоихглазах –сиянье дня

Roxana, tu t'est réveillée, ma petite
Roksusha, tu as ouvert tes yeux
Roksenya, tes yeux ont regardée à moi
Roxy, c'est le bleu du ciel que j' y ai vu

Roxana, you woke up, my little girl
Roksusha, you opened your eyes
Roksenya, you looked at me, my little girl
Roxy, the blue sky shined on me from your eyes

                                                   16 February 2004

As you know now Roxana was born - ecologically  into water of  a swimming pool  in our home,
here is the story on how her name and the song with which she was introduced to the world were born...

After our second daughter was born (14:30 11 February 2004), it was a big problem for us to find a good name for her. - Among all girls' names we've beenwriting down thru the pregnancy there was none of that distinct quality which we would like it to be for a girl with dark hairand blue eyes.  After trying several names, the last of which were Marieanne and Roxolana, we shared the names with our midwife Teresa who was visiting us and who said "Would not itbe great to be called after a Ukrainian heroine! (Roxolana is a name from a Ukrainianepic)And also a similar name - Roxana, is also very nice in both languages".That's how the name Roxana was first pronounced in our house. Then we realized that the name Roxana also very nicely encompasses the other Ukrainian name we wanted verymuch to bestow to our daughter - Oxana, or Ksenya, which was the name ofAlexandra's grandmom, but which is difficult in spelling out and pronouncing foranglophones and francophone. So. next day (16 February), we already knew the name of our daughter. And we celebrated it with a morning tea. But not anordinary tea...

...The tea was a very special one - the one called "for asmooth birth", which Alexandra brought from Ukraine and prepared for thedelivery and some of which was left in thermos. As we drank it, Alexandra jokedto me: "Watch not to give birth to someone!", and I said "Theonly think to which I can give birth is a song" and forgot about it.

Two hours later, as I was rocking Roxana, I  startedhumming a tune for her. "Oh, my goodness! - It is indeed an original tune.I can feel it. And the harmony is unique. Alexandra, lets recorded rightaway!" So, with very first words which we had in our heads to say to our, just received a name, daughter - we sang it. Right away. Et voila! - The world,Welcome Roxana!
